Cameroon & Malawi – where the game comes to life
Last week marked a meaningful milestone for Shifting Focus game. In Cameroon, partners of the Liliane Foundation at CBCHS introduced the game at their Rehabilitation Training Centre of Excellence in Mutengene. Participants walked away with fresh insights, realizing how shifting attention can transform care and support.
And this week in Malawi, new staff at the CP Clinic of Mangochi District Hospital are being trained through the very same experience—proof of how quickly the impact is spreading.
🎲 What is Shifting Focus?
Created by the Enablement Foundation together with serious game experts Salsaparilla, this experiential game invites players to step into the world of a child with cerebral palsy.
Its goal? To move beyond the “disease & cure” mindset, and instead embrace acceptance, participation, inclusion, and functional development.
This isn’t about theory—it’s about feeling what truly matters in a child’s life and reflecting on the kind of support that makes a difference.
💡 Why does it work?
- Experience, don’t just learn: Participants live the challenges and see what matters most.
- Shift your mindset: From curative to inclusive, from passive to participatory.
- Impact where it counts: Played in local contexts, the game sparks real change on the ground.
✨ “Shifting Focus” is more than a game—it’s a catalyst for empathy, reflection, and meaningful change.
