Real, lasting change often starts with people and organisations working together—and with local communities taking ownership of that change. Through our partnership with Grand Assistive Technology Center (GAT), Enablement is supporting work to improve access to rehabilitation, assistive technology and other services for children with disabilities and their families in Gondar.

We’re especially encouraged that the Gondar City Administration has committed to contributing 25% of the annual project budget through its municipal budget. For us, this is about more than a financial contribution. It shows that local government is recognising the importance of disability inclusion and is willing to invest in making these services more sustainable.

Support from our donors has helped make this kind of local partnership possible. And as local commitment grows, so does the opportunity to reach more people and create lasting change. We’re looking for more partners and donors who believe in locally led solutions and want to help make this work go further.
